Canadian Architect David Mills
In 1977, the firm of David Mills Architect was established to provide a full range of architectural services for Clients in south-central Ontario, Canada. The Mills architectural design team is guided by sensitivity to user needs and the environment. From the beginning, David Mills has been particularly concerned with accessibility in the built environment and has worked with many clients servicing special needs. Architecture for the community has become a specialty with a focus on schools and daycares. With an education in environmental studies, David Mills has incorporated the values of "green architecture" into the practice. The firm has acquired a reputation for creatively designed buildings that are constructed within Clients' budgets and has resulted in many repeat clients from the commercial, institutional, industrial, governmental, residential and historical sectors of the construction industry. Mills & Associates Ltd., Architect was incorporated in 1994, reflecting the broader base of professional key personnel in the firm.

From 1995, Mills & Associates Ltd., Architect has expanded its expertise to work as partners in Joint Ventures with other architects, sharing the responsibility for design and construction administration. This approach has been successfully applied where project location, size or special requirements have been criteria in the selection of the architectural team. As a result, Mills & Associates Ltd., Architect has designed a wide range of Public Facilities from 1,000 m2 to 20,000 m2. The firm has also been involved in several winning design competition projects.
Mills & Associates Ltd., Architect is responsive to the key concerns of Clients. The in-house cost estimates are accurate and have a track record for being within 3% of the final tender price on educational projects. Contractors the firm has worked with have consistently completed the projects on time for the clients opening goals. Safety and secure environments have been achieved through the control of architectural design. Consensus building through workshops and meetings is used to resolve programs or discuss design options. The firm has experience in obtaining approvals from municipal, regional and provincial authorities. Computerized office technology supports communications and documentation.
